Message	checked all connections and ran the auto trans diagnostic, and all that checks out good, then it is safe to assume that there is a mechanical failure in the transmission. How many miles does the car have on it? How often (if at all) has the the trans been serviced? A rebuild could cost around $1,000-$3,000 roughly if you have a shop do it.
